MemorizeKit Reading

Read, listen, then keep the sentence you need.

Reading puts English articles in a reader with audio for every sentence. You read, select what's worth keeping and save it straight to a Lesson, so Learn and Flashcards can ask you about it later.

A reading in Reading: its labels, the sentence that's playing, and the actions to save it.

Pick a reading by topic.

The catalog groups readings by category, and every card tells you up front how long the audio runs, who wrote it, and what it's about.

Every sentence is a play button.

In the reader, tap a sentence and the audio plays from exactly there. The sentence that's playing is highlighted, so your eyes and ears stay in the same place on the page.

If a reading's audio isn't available, the text and the save actions still work as usual.

  • Repeat sentence

Repeat the sentence you're hearing, then carry on reading.

  • Pause between

Add up to 2 seconds of silence after each repeat — enough to say it back before the next sentence starts.

  • Speed from 0.25× to 2×

Slow down to catch every sound, or speed up once the reading sounds familiar.

  • Vietnamese translation

Each paragraph ends with a button that opens its Vietnamese translation right below — you choose to see it; it isn't shown by default.

From reading to term

Select it, and you can save it.

Select a word, a phrase, or a whole sentence and save it to one of your Lessons. What you save keeps its original sentence as context, so when it comes back in Learn you still remember where you met it.

Add to Lesson
Creates a term in the Lesson you pick. It only counts once the save succeeds — there's no fake “saved” state.
Look it up in place
Open a word's meaning, part of speech, and pronunciation right in the page, without leaving the reading.
Translate the sentence
Check the whole sentence in Vietnamese when a single word isn't enough.

Turn a public YouTube video into your own reading.

Paste a link into Reading and MemorizeKit takes the transcript and audio and builds a private Reading for your account — read, listen, and save sentences just like any other.

Public videos only, one at a time
Private or restricted links and whole playlists are declined before anything is created.
Re-importing the same link makes no duplicate
Retrying after a network error brings back the same reading instead of adding a second copy.
Progress that tells the truth
You see processing, done, or a retryable error. The Reading only opens once it's actually ready.

One broken piece doesn't break the whole reading.

Reading brings several things together: text, audio, progress, translation. When one piece isn't ready, the rest still works and the status is spelled out instead of going silent.

  • Audio won't play

The reading switches to a no-audio state. Text, translation, and save actions stay put.

  • The catalog fails to load

The page keeps its layout and what's already shown, with a retry for just the part that failed.

  • Saving a term fails

No “added” message. Your selection is kept so you can save it again.

  • A YouTube import stops partway

The import keeps its identity, so retrying picks it up instead of starting over.

Reading to meet the language. Learn to remember it.

Sentences you save from a reading become terms in a Lesson. From there, Learn asks you about exactly those terms and records the result in your review schedule.
